A woman accused of intentionally running over a street dog in Pannipitiya has been remanded by the Homagama Magistrate’s Court until 09 December.

The order follows a hit-and-run incident on 14 November that resulted in the death of “Blackie,” a community dog residing at Vidyala Junction.

Following a complaint filed with Kottawa Police on 16 November, police and welfare groups presented the case to the Magistrate yesterday (25)

A vigil was held at the scene yesterday (25) to mark the court’s decision.
