The Sri Lanka Air Force has requested the public to refrain from flying drones over disaster-affected areas, warning that such activity poses a significant risk and creates serious obstacles to ongoing aerial rescue operations.

The Air Force said unauthorised drone flights can interfere with rescue aircraft and endanger both rescue teams and affected communities. It urged the public to cooperate fully until rescue missions are completed.
