18-Member Task Force Appointed to ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ Project

A Gazette notification has been issued announcing the appointment of an 18-member Presidential Task Force, including the President’s Secretary, to oversee the implementation of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ initiative.

This initiative, rooted in the President’s policy statement, “A Rich Country, a Beautiful Life,” is set to launch a transformative national mission focused on well-being, reconciliation, and national progress.

The Gazette, signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, was issued yesterday (19).

The members of the task force are as follows:

  1. Dr N. S. Kumanayake – Secretary to the President
  2. Commander of the Army
  3. Commander of the Navy
  4. Commander of the Air Force
  5. W. L. A. Saman Priyantha – Acting Inspector General of Police
  6. Eng. Kumudu Lal De Silva – Chairman, Urban Development Authority
  7. I. S. Jayaratna
  8. Gihan De Silva
  9. Sandya Salgado
  10. Dr Gamini Batuwitage
  11. Dr Anuruddha Gamage
  12. Dilruk Wanasinghe
  13. Deepal Sooriyaarachchi
  14. Sisira Amarabandu
  15. Krishantha Cooray
  16. Jayathu Perera
  17. Ruwan Weerasooriya
  18. Dayan Karunarathna

The programme seeks to foster social, environmental, and ethical awakening while promoting environmental, economic, and social sustainability. It also aims to enhance the efficiency of state institutions to achieve its objectives effectively.
