The Director of the Disaster Management Center (DMC) Pradeep Kodippili has issued a strong warning to the public, cautioning that visiting disaster-stricken areas is extremely dangerous. Speaking at a media briefing, Kodippili urged citizens to refrain from bathing or entering waters flowing with strong currents, highlighting the life-threatening risks associated with the prevailing weather conditions.

He further noted that the soil remains heavily saturated due to continuous heavy rainfall. Consequently, he advised the public to remain vigilant and to evacuate immediately whenever a red alert is issued by the authorities to ensure personal safety.

Addressing the status of response operations, Kodippili stated that relief efforts for affected communities are currently ongoing. He requested the public to report any disaster-related issues or emergencies directly to the DMC via the hotline ‘117.’ Regarding the distribution of aid, he emphasized that all relief activities should follow proper procedures and be channeled through the District Secretary to ensure organized distribution.

Furthermore, the Director expressed his appreciation for the swift international support received during this crisis, specifically acknowledging the assistance provided by relief teams from India and Pakistan.
