A clothing store owner in Thalawathugoda has been arrested for allegedly installing a hidden camera inside a fitting room and secretly recording women while they changed clothes.

Police said the suspect is a 43-year-old resident of Kottawa.

During the inspection of his mobile phone, officers reportedly discovered more than 200 video clips believed to have been recorded inside the store’s fitting room.

An investigation has been launched to determine whether the footage has been uploaded online or sold to inappropriate websites. The Police are continuing inquiries to identify any further violations and to protect the privacy of those affected.
