Milinda Moragoda, Founder of the Pathfinder Foundation, participated in the 4th India–Japan Forum in New Delhi, following an invitation from India’s Ministry of External Affairs and the Ananta Centre. During his presentation, he proposed that India assume leadership of a post-disaster reconstruction and recovery initiative for Sri Lanka, with Japan partnering as a key strategic ally.
Moragoda had earlier advanced this idea in an op-ed for the Hindustan Times. The forum, held in New Delhi, featured wide-ranging discussions on India–Japan cooperation, focusing on economic security, semiconductors, trade, nuclear energy, digitalisation, strategic minerals and investment.
While in New Delhi, Moragoda met with several senior Indian leaders, including External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and other senior policymakers.
The India–Japan Forum serves as a platform for leaders from both countries to shape the future of bilateral ties and strategic cooperation. It is convened by India’s Ministry of External Affairs in partnership with the Ananta Centre.
