SPMC to Introduce 10 New Medicines

The State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC) has announced plans to introduce 10 new pharmaceutical products to the local market this year.

In a statement, the SPMC said it is aiming to manufacture around four billion tablets and capsules during the year. At present, the Corporation produces 70 different types of medicines.

The SPMC also recorded its highest-ever annual pharmaceutical output last year, producing 3.625 billion tablets and capsules. The highest monthly production in its history was achieved in March last year, when 385 million tablets and capsules were manufactured.

Five new pharmaceutical products were introduced to the market in 2025. During the same period, the SPMC successfully fulfilled all orders placed by the Medical Supplies Division without any shortages.

Meanwhile, the Corporation reported a total revenue of Rs. 27.06 billion in 2025, according to the statement.
