Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Prasad Siriwardana has been summoned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to give a statement over comments he made during a television programme.

Siriwardana said he has been asked to appear before the CID at 10.00 a.m. on Monday (12) in connection with remarks he made on Hiru TV’s Salakuna programme regarding the government’s new education reforms.

Commenting on the summons, Siriwardana criticised the move, saying: “This is the true picture of the government elected by the people. This (CID) has become a puppet government.”
