The Colombo High Court on 13 January ordered that the case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against Ramith Rambukwella be taken up again for a further pre-trial conference on 11 February.

The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal, during which CIABOC submitted several documents relevant to the proceedings. The judge directed that copies of these documents be provided to the defence and informed both parties that the pre-trial conference should be concluded at the next hearing.

CIABOC has filed indictments alleging that Ramith Rambukwella had unlawfully acquired assets exceeding Rs. 270 million while serving as the private secretary to his father, Keheliya Rambukwella, between 13 August 2020 and 24 June 2024. The prosecution maintains that the accumulation of these assets cannot be justified by his lawful income during that period.
