Suspected getaway car in Akuregoda double killing found torched in Galle

The vehicle suspected to have been used by the gunmen in the double homicide at Akuregoda, Thalangama, has been discovered in the Agaliya area of Galle.

According to the Nugegoda Divisional Crimes Investigation Bureau, the car was located on an access road in Kuttiyawatta while it was on fire.

Police stated that they had received information that the vehicle allegedly used in the killing of attorney-at-law Buddhika Mallawarachchi and his wife had been abandoned in the Agaliya area. Officers who responded to the tip-off found the car engulfed in flames upon arrival.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
