Former Director of the State Intelligence Service, Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

He has been arrested in relation to the ongoing investigation into the 2019 Easter Sunday Terror Attacks.

He is scheduled to be produced before court after being taken to the Criminal Investigation Department to record a statement, reports said.

However, it is also reported that steps are being taken to obtain a detention order under the Prevention of Terrorism Act to hold him in custody.
