Former Director of the State Intelligence Service, Suresh Sallay, was arrested this morning at around 7.50 a.m. within the Peliyagoda Police Division.

Police stated that the arrest was made based on clear evidence that had emerged in parallel with ongoing investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The suspect has been referred to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations. Police said the media would be informed in due course regarding the steps taken by investigating officers in connection with the matter.

Police Media Spokesman, Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler, issued the statement.
