United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli strikes on Tehran.
Trump described the reported killing as “justice” for the people of Iran, Americans, and “people from many countries throughout the world.”
He said the bombing would continue and added that “this is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country,” according to his statement.
The claim comes after the United States and Israel launched attacks across Iran. Earlier, Israel identified seven officials it said were killed in the strikes, but did not include the supreme leader among them.
In response, Iran launched attacks across the Middle East. Apparent Iranian strikes were reported in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait — locations that host US military bases or are allied with Washington.
