A male body was recovered from the sea off Colombo Port City, Police said.

The discovery was made yesterday (1) after the Colombo Harbour Police Station received information about a body floating in the waters near the Port City premises. Officers launched an immediate investigation following the alert.

The deceased has been identified as a 24-year-old resident of Valvettithurai.

Police stated that he had attended a music concert held at the Colombo Port City on 28 February 2026.

Further investigations are underway by the Colombo Harbour Police to ascertain the cause of death.
