Two Arrested in Pita Kotte for Accepting Rs. 9 Million Bribe

Two businessmen were arrested in Pita Kotte by Bribery Commission officers while accepting a Rs. 9 million bribe from another businessman.

The arrested duo is former Western Province Councillor Salochana Gamage and an individual named Dushantha Dinesh Rathnayake, the Police said.

According to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), the suspects had allegedly solicited the bribe in exchange for expediting compensation for the relative of the businessman, whose land was acquired by the Urban Development Authority (UDA).
