Cleaning product prices increased by 25% from midnight

Cleaning product prices increased by 25% from midnight

Prices of cleaning products have been increased by 25% with effect from midnight on 8 April, according to the Domestic Entrepreneurs Empowerment Organisation.

The organisation’s Secretary, Pushpakumara Karunaratne, said the price revision applies to a wide range of cleaning products and liquids.

Accordingly, the price of washing powder has been increased by Rs. 75 per kilogram, while dishwashing liquid has been raised by Rs. 105.

Toilet cleaning liquid prices have increased by Rs. 115, and handwash liquid by Rs. 120.

Vehicle washing liquid has seen an increase of Rs. 100, while 500ml air fresheners have also been raised by Rs. 100.

The price of 500ml disinfectant liquid has recorded the highest increase, rising by Rs. 225.

In addition, other related cleaning products and liquid items have also been increased by 25%, the organisation said.

The price hike is expected to impact household expenses, particularly amid the rising cost of essential goods.
