Nissan has officially launched the all-new 7-seater GRAVITE MPV in Sri Lanka, with prices starting from Rs. 6.99 million, as the Japanese automaker seeks to strengthen its presence in the local market through an expanded product lineup.

The vehicle was unveiled by Nissan and its exclusive local distributor Associated Motorways (AMW), positioning the GRAVITE as a modular family vehicle tailored to Sri Lankan mobility needs.

The launch comes following the commercial success of the Nissan Magnite, with the company describing the GRAVITE as a key milestone in Nissan’s renewed growth strategy in Sri Lanka.

Atul Aggarwal, Director Aftersales and South Asia Business at Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., said Sri Lanka remained a strategically important market for Nissan’s South Asian operations.

“Sri Lanka is central to our South Asia business operations and our brand actions over the past year has strengthened through expanding network and product plans. Introduction of the All-New Nissan Gravite is another step towards our commitment to the Sri Lankan market,” he said.

AMW Managing Director Jawahar Ganesh said the vehicle had been designed with Sri Lankan family lifestyles in mind.

“The All-New Nissan GRAVITE is inspired by the diversity, scale and ambition of Sri Lankan families. Every detail — from its modular seating to its commanding stance — reflects how Sri Lankan customers live, travel and grow together,” he said.

The GRAVITE features seating configurations for between two and seven occupants, with removable third-row seats allowing for expanded luggage capacity. Nissan said the vehicle offers up to 625 litres of cargo space in its five-seater setup.

The MPV also includes a range of technology and comfort features, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, three-row air conditioning vents, and front and rear parking sensors.

Safety features include six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill-Start Assist, Brake Assist System, and ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

The vehicle is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72PS and 96Nm of torque, paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed EZ-shift AMT gearbox.

According to Nissan, the automatic variant delivers a fuel economy of 19.6 km/l, while the manual version offers 19.3 km/l.

For a limited period, Nissan will also offer a Launch Edition package equipped with JBL speakers, dual dash cameras, ambient lighting, and additional exterior styling enhancements.

Introductory prices begin at Rs. 6.99 million for the VISIA variant, Rs. 8.19 million for the N-CONNECTA AMT, and Rs. 8.59 million for the TEKNA AMT.

The company said the launch would support its broader expansion plans across Sri Lanka, including growth through dealer networks in Tier II and Tier III cities and the introduction of additional SUV models over the next two years.
