Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa said that, based on what he has learned, authorities may arrest them over the incident that took place near the War Heroes Memorial.

“The Police have asked us to come on Monday. We will go then,” he said.

He further stated that if they had in fact obstructed official duties, the authorities had the power to arrest them at the time of the incident itself.

Weerawansa made these remarks during an interview with a private television channel.
