Former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Major General (Retd.) Suresh Sallay, who is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, has continued his hunger strike despite being hospitalised, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Relatives and members of his legal team were allowed to meet him yesterday (8), during which Sallay reportedly informed them that he had no intention of ending the protest at this stage.
Sources said Sallay is protesting the ongoing investigations against him and has outlined several demands that he wants addressed before calling off the hunger strike.
