Three individuals who were admitted to hospital with severe injuries following a fire at a restaurant near Thalawathugoda Junction have died, police said.
The fire broke out at the restaurant this morning (9), prompting the deployment of three fire engines belonging to the Kotte Municipal Council to bring the blaze under control.
Police suspect that the fire may have been caused by a gas leak.
Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Talangama Police.
