Colombo Stock Exchange Achieves Historic Growth of 49.66% in 2024

The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange delivered an exceptional performance in 2024, recording a remarkable growth of 49.66%. Starting at 10,654.16 points at the beginning of the year, the ASPI rose to a historic high of 15,944.61 by the end of the year.

Similarly, the S&P SL20 Index, which tracks the top 20 companies on the exchange, grew by an impressive 58.46% to reach a record high of 4,862.10 points. This marks the highest ever recorded for the ASPI and the S&P SL20 Index.

In addition to these milestones, the market capitalization of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) reached Rs. 5.69 trillion, the first in its history.
