Ruwan Wanigasooriya Assumes Duties as Chief of National Intelligence

Major General (Retired) Ruwan Wanigasooriya has been appointed as the Chief of National Intelligence, effective from 1 January.

He received his letter of appointment from Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retired) on the same day.

Following the appointment, Wanigasooriya officially assumed duties at his office in the Defence Ministry, located in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.

The position became vacant after the retirement of Major General Ruwan Kulatunga, the former Chief of National Intelligence.
