Over 39,000 tourist arrivals recorded in first 5 days of 2025

According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), over 39,000 tourist arrivals were recorded in the first 5 days of the year.

Accordingly, 39,415 tourist arrivals were recorded from January 01 to 05, of which 6,481 were identified as Russian nationals and 6,183 as Indian nationals.

The majority of the tourists were identified as Russian and Indian nationals, with British, German, Australian and American tourists also among the arrivals.

Sri Lanka recorded the highest number of daily arrivals in the four-day period on Wednesday, January 02, with 9,392 tourist arrivals recorded in the country.
