The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has assured its commitment to provide continued financial and technical assistance to Sri Lanka.
JICA Senior Vice President Hara Shohei gave the assurance when he met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat this week.
The agency pledged to provide support for ongoing infrastructure projects, including the “Clean Sri Lanka” project, transport reforms and BIA expansion, the Presidential Media Division said.
As Japan’s official implementing agency for bilateral assistance, JICA has been a long-standing supporter of Sri Lanka since independence.
The agency has provided several Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans, technical assistance, and grants to boost key sectors such as rural development, infrastructure improvement, and community well-being.
