With the inclusion of the Colombo-Badulla train journey among the world’s 10 best train journeys to be experienced in 2025, Sri Lanka’s tourism sector has received fresh attention in the new year.

Listed as the 7th best train in the world by Lonely Planet, a global travel guide known for its expertise in travel insights and recommendations.

Commenting on the ranking, Travel Talks Asia said the recognition is testament to Sri Lanka’s growing appeal as a must-see destination.
