The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) recently recognized the outstanding contributions of over 60 veteran members at a special felicitation ceremony.
The event, which was part of the Institute’s 65th anniversary celebrations, was held to recognize the outstanding service, dedication and commitment of senior Chartered Accountants who have played a crucial role in the advancement of the accounting profession in the country since the inception of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka in 1959.
During the event, Sri Lanka President Heshana Kuruppu presented special mementos to veteran members in the presence of Vice President Tishan Subasinghe, CEO Lakmali Priyangika and other distinguished guests.
Participants presented mementos as a token of appreciation for their outstanding contributions to the profession.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Kuruppu highlighted the importance of recognizing and appreciating the pioneers of the profession.
“These veteran members have laid the foundation for what the accounting profession in Sri Lanka represents today. Their dedication and service will continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration for future generations of accountants.”
To underscore the Institute’s deep gratitude and respect for the fundamental role these professionals have played in shaping the accounting profession in Sri Lanka, this honour was bestowed upon members who became members of CA Sri Lanka in 1984 or earlier.
This honour is reserved for the Sri Lanka CA Hall of Fame and Lifetime Achievement Award recipients and past Presidents. Past Presidents are honoured by having their portraits displayed at the Institute, and selected members are commemorated through the CA Sri Lanka Lifetime Achievement Award since 2010 and through the Hall of Fame since 2011.
