Sri Lanka’s preparations for the upcoming Australian Test series have been hampered by an injury sustained by Kamindu Mendis while attempting to bowl a catch in today’s first-class match between SSC and CCC. The injury required stitches, raising concerns about his availability.

However, a senior Sri Lanka Cricket official downplayed the severity of the injury, saying, “I think Kamindu will be fine; just one or two stitches.”

Adding to Sri Lanka’s concerns, Pathum Nissanka’s participation in the tournament is still in doubt due to a groin injury. With less than two weeks left until the start of the tournament, the team is facing mounting injury problems.
