Former Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Mr. Manil Jayasinghe, appointed to the IFRS Advisory Council

Former Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka), Mr. Manil Jayasinghe, who also serves as the Chairman of the Accounting Standards Committee of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and the Accounting Standards Committee of the Sri Lanka CA, has been appointed as the representative of both the Sri Lanka CA and SAFA to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Advisory Council.

This prestigious appointment, approved by the Trustees of the IFRS Foundation, was effective from 1 January 2025 for a period of three years. The IFRS Advisory Council plays a critical role in the development of global accounting standards and Jayasinghe’s appointment ensures that Sri Lanka and the South Asian region continue to have a powerful and influential presence in shaping the future of the global accounting landscape.
