PM Modi thanks world leaders for Republic Day greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked several world leaders for their greetings to India on Republic Day.

Prime Minister Modi thanked Thai Prime Minister Ing-wen Ing-shin, former President of Maldives, President of Maldives Mohamed Muhyiddin Yadav, former Prime Minister of Nepal, Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli, former President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and former Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Thai Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had expressed his gratitude for the fruitful and productive relations between Thailand and India.

“On the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. We greatly value our relations with Thailand. We look forward to continued cooperation to enhance regional connectivity and people-to-people ties,” Prime Minister Modi said.

Former Maldives President Solih said India’s adherence to the values ​​of democracy and constitutionalism continues to be an inspiration and “guiding role model” for young democracies like the Maldives.

Prime Minister Modi thanked Solih and said, “Thank you Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for your heartfelt greetings on India’s Republic Day.”

Greeting India, Nepal’s Prime Minister Deuba said that Nepal and India share a “time-honored bond of friendship” rooted in shared history and values.

Prime Minister Modi thanked Mr. Deuba, saying, “Thank you for your kind greetings to Mr. Sher Bahadur Deuba on the 76th Republic Day of India. May the age-old ties of friendship between our people continue to flourish and strengthen.”

Bhutanese Prime Minister Tobgay also conveyed his greetings to India on behalf of the people of Bhutan.

“Thank you to my friend Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay for your warm greetings on the completion of 75 years of the Republic of India. We greatly appreciate the unique and special partnership between India and Bhutan,” Prime Minister Modi thanked him.

Maldives President Muisu said that he will always cherish the bonds of strong friendship and cooperation that we share with India, built over time on mutual trust, respect and understanding.

“Thank you, President Mohammad Mujibur Rahman, for your greetings on the occasion of India’s Republic Day. I fully share your sentiments about the long-standing partnership between India and the Maldives. We are committed to deepening these bonds of friendship and cooperation,” said Nepali Prime Minister Oli.

Nepali Prime Minister Oli hoped that the ties of friendship between New Delhi and Kathmandu would continue to deepen.

“Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, thank you for your warm greetings. At this time when India is celebrating the 75th year of its Republic, we greatly appreciate the bonds of historic friendship between the people of our two countries. I am confident that it will further grow in the times to come,” Prime Minister Modi thanked Nepali Prime Minister Oli.

On Sunday, India marked the occasion with a grand display of its military might and cultural diversity in a grand parade at Kartavya Road.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the chief guest at this year’s Republic Day celebrations.
