Air Quality Remains Moderate Across Sri Lanka, Nine Districts Record ‘Good’ Levels

Air quality across Sri Lanka remained at a moderate level, with nine districts, including Colombo 07, recording good air quality, according to the Vehicular Emission Test Trust Fund of the Department of Motor Traffic.

Kurunegala, Vavuniya, Kandy, Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya, Embilipitiya, Kalutara, and Moneragala registered good air quality levels, while most other areas recorded moderate levels.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) is forecasted to range between 30 and 78 throughout the day, with the highest levels expected between 7:30 – 8:30 AM and 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Over the next 24 hours, AQI levels are expected to remain moderate across most cities.
