Sri Lanka were bowled out for 257 in the first innings of the second Test against Australia at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

Sri Lanka, who started the day at 222/9, managed to score 257 runs on the second day of the second Test. Dinesh Chandimal scored 74 runs in the first half of the first day while Kusal Mendis scored 85 not out in the second half of the first day, which included saving the tail.
When Chandimal was dismissed, Kusal was on 8 runs and the team’s total was 150. Mendis scored 77 runs in the remaining 107 runs, which showed how he led the attack with complete control.

Australia had only three specialist bowlers, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Kuhneman, who all took 3 wickets each, while Head took a bonus wicket. Captain Steve Smith organised his bowling and fielding changes brilliantly, and Sri Lanka were unable to score freely even during a partnership.

Early in the first day, Sri Lanka elected to bat after winning the toss. Dinesh Chandimal was the highest scorer on the day, scoring 74 runs. On the other hand, for Australia, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc took 3 wickets each, while Matthew Kuhneman took 2 wickets and Travis Head took one wicket.
