SDIG Waruna Jayasundara Transferred; DIG D.G.S. De Silva to Lead STF

Senior DIG Attorney-at-Law Waruna Jayasundara, who served as the Commandant of the Police Special Task Force (STF), along with several other high-ranking police officers, has been transferred.

The transfers, approved by the National Police Commission, include Senior DIGs and DIGs and are set to take effect from 12 February.

SDIG Waruna Jayasundara has been assigned to the Eastern Province, while DIG D.G.S. De Silva will take over as the new STF Commandant from 12 February 2025.

Additionally, several other Senior DIGs, DIGs, and Officers-in-Charge (OICs) are expected to be transferred, with the respective OICs assuming their new duties following the transfers.
