Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in France on Monday on the first leg of his two-nation tour.
During his stay in Paris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will co-chair the AI Action Summit, a gathering of world leaders and global tech CEOs, where they will exchange views on a collaborative approach to AI technology for innovation and public good.
The bilateral leg of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to France from February 10 to 12 will provide an opportunity to review the progress of the Horizon 2047 roadmap for the India-France strategic partnership with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The two leaders will visit the historic French city of Marseille to inaugurate the first Indian Consulate in France and will also visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project.
Prime Minister Modi will pay homage to Indian soldiers who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars at the Mazar-i-Sharif War Cemetery.
From France, Prime Minister Modi will leave for the United States on a two-day visit at the invitation of President Donald Trump.
“I look forward to meeting my friend President Trump. “Although this is our first meeting since his historic election victory and inauguration in January, I have very warm memories of working together during his first term to build a comprehensive global strategic partnership between India and the United States,” Prime Minister Modi said in his farewell statement.
He said the visit would be an opportunity to build on the successes of cooperation during President Trump’s first term and to set an agenda to further enhance and deepen our partnership, including in the areas of technology, trade, security, energy and supply chain resilience.
“We will work together for the mutual benefit of the people of our two countries and shape a better future for the world,” he added. Prime Minister Modi was scheduled to visit France the day before yesterday.
“Further deepening of India-France strategic partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave for Paris, France to co-chair the AI Action Summit with French President Emmanuel Macron. The Prime Minister will hold talks with President Macron and jointly undertake several bilateral engagements,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randeep Jaiswal said in a note on X.
