Inayat Akbarali, Chairman of Akbar Brothers Group and a pioneer in the Sri Lankan tea industry, has passed away.

A business stalwart, Mr. Akbarali, along with his late brothers Abbas and Abid Akbarali, co-founded Akbar Brothers, which became Sri Lanka’s largest tea exporter for over 30 years. His leadership and vision played a crucial role in shaping the company into a diversified conglomerate with a strong global presence.

Mr. Akbarli was part of a generation that laid a strong foundation for Akbar Brothers by instilling core values ​​of honesty and integrity in business practices. These principles, which he upheld throughout his life, continue to guide the company’s operations today.
