As Sri Lanka’s national carrier prepares for a leadership change, SriLankan Airlines is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the airline through its next phase of transformation.

In a recently published job advertisement, the airline’s board of directors announced the search for a “dynamic and visionary leader” who can build on the airline’s “proud heritage” and meet the challenges of the aviation industry.

The position is currently held by Richard Nuttall, an aviation industry veteran who brings over three decades of experience to the role. However, SriLankan is now looking for a fresh face to take over the helm.

The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of senior management experience in a recognised international airline and have a strong understanding of commercial aviation, flight operations, service provision, engineering and maintenance. Previous experience as a CEO in an airline or large-scale organisation would be a significant advantage, a job advertisement posted by SriLankan Airlines stated.

Although the age limit is 55 years by the end of this month, the airline has indicated that this will not be a deal breaker for an exceptional candidate. The position is open to both Sri Lankan and international applicants and is offered on a fixed-term contract basis.
