Public Security Ministry Secretary Ravi Seneviratne said that authorities have uncovered efforts to obstruct the renewed investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks in 2019.

Addressing a special media briefing on national security following the killing of Ganemulla Sanjeewa and the Kotahena Police shooting of two suspects in custody related to a separate shooting incident, Seneviratne revealed that the ongoing probe has opened new investigative pathways.

“Intelligence agencies have detected deliberate attempts by certain groups to derail the investigations. A separate inquiry is already underway to address this. Let me be clear—those responsible have been identified, and they will face the full force of the law,” he asserted.

Seneviratne further said that any attempt to interfere with the investigation or destabilise the nation will not be tolerated.
