The Petroleum Distributors’ Association has voiced concerns that the government is making moves to hand over Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) filling stations to foreign companies.
Vice-Chairman Kusum Sandanayake alleged that various efforts are underway to facilitate this transfer.
Meanwhile, the association plans to visit the Presidential Secretariat this morning (3) to submit a memorandum protesting the reduction of the 3% commission for filling station owners.
In a separate development, Lanka IOC fuel distributors have decided to halt fuel orders.
Chairman Kosala Vidana Arachchi stated that due to pressure from the CPC, distributors are incurring a loss of Rs. 35,000 per order.
