SriLankan Airlines, in collaboration with Telangana Tourism, organized a Familiarization (FAM) tour with 14 Sri Lankan delegates, including top travel agents and outbound tour operators.

The selected itinerary included both ancient Buddhist heritage sites and modern attractions, which provided a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical richness of Telangana.

The tour included visits to UNESCO protected sites such as the Buddhavanam Project, the world’s largest Buddhist heritage theme park, Nagarjunakonda and Ramappa Temples. The group also explored Nelakondapalli, Fanigiri, the historic Warangal Fort built by the Kakatiya dynasty, and the Laknawaram Islands. The tour concluded with fun experiences at the tourist attractions of Hyderabad city, including the Wonderla Adventure Park and famous shopping circuits.

This collaboration between SriLankan Airlines and Telangana Tourism marks the beginning of a promising future for tourism between Sri Lanka and Telangana. The FAM tour not only provided valuable insights to Sri Lankan tourism representatives, but also helped strengthen cultural and tourism ties between the two regions.
