In a significant achievement for Sri Lanka’s IT and electronics manufacturing industry, EWIS Colombo, the country’s first and only local computer manufacturer, has successfully exported the first batch of locally manufactured laptops to Zimbabwe. The historic shipment, dispatched from EWIS’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Suriyawewa, underscores the company’s commitment to delivering world-class technology solutions. With over 11 years of expertise in manufacturing and assembly, EWIS Colombo has played a key role in the advancement of Sri Lanka’s IT sector. As a company approved under Section 17 of the Board of Investment (BOI), EWIS has established the country’s first and only indigenous computer manufacturing plant, thereby paving the way for the growth of the nation’s high-tech exports.
