With the country rapidly digitizing, all corruption related to financial management can be eliminated through digital procedures, said Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) Vice President Indika de Zoysa.

He told the media that many public and private institutions have embraced digitalization.

“Most financial transactions are now conducted through digital systems. Using digital platforms can reduce cash-related costs and make it possible to track expenses. Corruption can be eliminated from society if financial management is done through digitalized platforms,” he said.

“Digitalization has also been integrated into school systems and education. Teaching and learning methods such as blended learning and online learning are facilitated through digital platforms such as smart boards,” Zoysa said.

Therefore, the government should take steps to streamline and accelerate digitalization programs, he said.
