Former MP Hirunika Premachandra has written on Facebook that she and her husband Hiran have decided to separate from their marriage with mutual respect and understanding.
She wrote:
“After much thought and consideration, Hiran and I have decided to separate from our marriage, a decision that was taken with mutual respect and understanding.
We have spent almost 10 years together. We have created our dream life together. We are truly grateful for the love we have been able to experience as partners. When we got married, we did not promise forever, because we understood that life can take an unexpected turn. Instead, we committed to giving our best every day, and that’s what we did for many happy years.
We reached a crossroads where our paths diverged. It wasn’t a decision we took lightly, we thought about it for months, but we finally came to the decision to give each other independence. We are grateful for the time we shared. We wish each other nothing but the best. Thank you for your kindness, love, and being a part of our journey. – Hirunika and Hiran
