Sri Lanka’s First Sperm Bank at a State Hospital Established at Castle Street Hospital for Women

Sri Lanka’s first sperm bank at a State hospital has been established at the Castle Street Hospital for Women in Colombo, Lankadeepa reported.

According to Hospital Director Ajith Kumara Danthanarayana, the service will be strictly private and confidential, allowing women facing fertility issues to seek assistance at the hospital.

The hospital assures that both donor privacy and recipient confidentiality will be fully protected. Donors will also be required to undergo a series of medical tests before making a donation, Danthanarayana stated.
