19th Tripitaka Chanting Under Sacred Bodhi Tree Commences with Global Participation

The 19th Tripitaka Chanting under the most sacred Bodhi Tree is proceeding successfully.

The inauguration ceremony was held on 3 December with a ceremonial procession in Bodh Gaya town, led by the venerable Maha Sangha from various Buddhist countries. Over 10,000 monastic and lay followers from different nations, carrying banners and traditional flags, participated in the procession.

Venerable Maha Theros from the Maha Sangha of 12 participating countries blessed the grand assembly of Tripitaka Chanting under the sacred Bodhi Tree.

The inauguration event was attended by dignitaries from the American Embassy, the International Buddhist Confederation, BTMC, the district administration, Cambodian international Sangha, and the Most Venerable Katugasthota Uparathana Maha Thera from the Maryland Vihara.
