The High Commission of India in Colombo provided relief assistance to the flood-affected communities of the Northern Province, following recent floods that caused displacement and hardship. The distribution was conducted on 7 December by the Consul General of India in Jaffna, Sai Murali, alongside Member of Parliament Kader Masthan.

Approximately 2,100 families in the flood-hit areas of Pesalai and Vellankulam in the Mannar District, as well as Thunukkai and Manthai East in the Mullaitivu District, received essential aid. The relief packages included mats and blankets to support families during this challenging time.
