Controversial figure Dan Priyasad was shot dead a short while ago in Meethotamulla.
The incident took place at the Laksanda Sewana housing complex.
He had been admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo for treatment. However, he succumbed to the injuries, the Police confirmed.
