The court on Tuesday imposed a travel ban on two suspects linked to the fatal shooting of Dan Priyasad in the Wellampitiya area, Colombo.

Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kakunawela issued the order against Bandula Biyal and his son Madhawa Sudarshana, residents of Wellampitiya, preventing them from leaving the country amid an ongoing investigation.

The Wellampitiya Police told the court that a long-standing dispute between the suspects and the victim had come to light, prompting the request for a travel ban to ensure the suspects do not flee the jurisdiction.

Police also stated that multiple witness statements have been collected from residents of the Laksada Sevana housing complex, where the shooting took place. Preliminary findings indicate that two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle, opened fire with a firearm, and then fled the scene.

The Additional Magistrate visited the crime scene and examine the body of the deceased at 2 p.m. as part of further proceedings.
