Political leaders across Pakistan have strongly condemned India’s suspension of the Indus Water Treaty following the Pahalgam attack. From federal ministers to regional leaders, they united in calling the move a violation of international law and a threat to regional peace.
National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq stressed that the treaty cannot be abrogated unilaterally, while leaders of the PPP, MQM-P, PTI and others labelled India’s actions as aggressive and extremist. AJK’s prime minister warned of a strong military response to any provocation, while Gilgit-Baltistan leaders vowed to defend their territory.
The move has been widely seen as part of a broader pattern of Indian aggression, with calls for national unity and international intervention growing louder.
