Thusitha Halloluwa Summoned to CID Over Social Media Post on President

Thusitha Halloluwa has been summoned to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on 7 May 2025 at 10:00 a.m., in connection with a social media post involving President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The Police in a press release said that the CID initiated the inquiry following a formal complaint. The Police claimed that Halloluwa’s statement on social media could pose a threat to public order and national security and therefore, the CID is seeking to determine the origin of the statement.

Authorities conducting the investigation under Section 109(6) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
