A Bell 212 Helicopter has crashed into the Maduru Oya Reservoir this morning (09), Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) confirmed.

Efforts are underway to rescue those who were in the helicopter. The SLAF said 9 out of 11 persons including 2 pilots on board of the helicopter were rescued.
