A shocking incident has come to light where a female foreign tourist was allegedly drugged, robbed, and pushed off a cliff by a hired van driver during a trip to Ella.

According to reports, the woman was travelling in a rental van when the driver offered her a fruit-based drink, which caused her to lose consciousness. Taking advantage of the situation, the driver is accused of stealing her belongings, including two mobile phones and cash.

Disturbingly, it has been revealed that the unconscious woman was then pushed off a cliff by the suspect, who later fled the scene.

Following a complaint lodged by the foreign national, the suspect was arrested by the Ella Police. Police further stated that after being produced in court, the suspect was remanded for 14 days pending further investigation.
